Rules
- Films must be completed and submitted within 48-Hours of the launch. Yes, that means if you are 2 seconds late, you are not eligible for prizes. This is a 48-hour challenge, not a 48 hour and five minute challenge. NO EXCEPTIONS OR EXCUSES!!
- Any film that misses the 48-Hour deadline will have an additional 4 hours to submit a film. These films will be screened, but will be ineligible for prizes.
- The films MUST include all the elements included in your challenge pack. The pack contents have not been arranged yet, so the exact elements are unknown. In the past they’ve included props, lines, themes, character traits, and locations. Any film that does not include ALL the elements from their challenge pack will not be eligible for prizes. NO EXCEPTIONS OR EXCUSES!!
- Films are to be between 6 minutes and 8 minutes long. If your film length falls outside 6-8 minutes, you will not be eligible for prizes.
- There is no particular theme for this challenge. You can make action, comedy, drama, or any other kind of film you want.
- Music used in the film must be used with rights and permissions. Royalty free music is okay. Music from friends’ bands is okay. Songs composed by people you know (and who say it’s ok) is okay. All music needs to be included on the cue sheet.
- We have an agreement in principle with ACTRA. ACTRA members who wish to take part are to claim this event as a “workshop.” Any violation of ACTRA membership guidelines is responsibility of the actor/actress and not the Toronto Film Challenge.
